West of the desert, there stretches a vast sea of grass. While there is not much here in the way of cover, food is abundant and the river which threads through rolling hills here makes sustaining life very possible.

To the far east is a sprawl of red mesas. Thirsty and feral, this land can be hostile to those unfamiliar with its temperature extremes and scarce weather. Those who know the desert's subtle gifts are able to make a life among her canyons and sage fields.

Stitching together the mountains and coast is a spread of forested land. Here life is thick and lush, and the often dense flora provides a challenge for the less agile. Streams from the mountains lace through the land, sustaining the forest and its inhabitants.

Visible from miles away in every direction, the mountains that cut into the sky are home to intense weather patterns and some of the hardiest equines. Here is a place for thick coats and those capable of coping with high winds and long winters.

Where the trees end, a number of sand dunes begins. Salt grass is abundant up to where the waves lick the beach, and a delta provides fresh runoff from the mountains when the tide is right. Those bold enough to brave the waves can swim to a few small offshore islands.

Clustered along the coast is a small chain of islands. Modest in size, they are host to a few dunes topped with salt grass and shrubbery as well as a few scattered trees. They are accessible when the tides are calm, and though they may not be vast they are certainly capable of supporting life for a short time. However, there is no water source here, making any one of them a difficult place to call home.
