Conduct Rules
- Be respectful! This is rule number one for a reason. Enders of Eras exists
for fun; it's a game. You may not always get along with everyone on the site.
If you find yourself offended or having a dispute with another member, please
message Johnny. He will help you sort it out discreetly and figure out a solution.
- Any and all intolerance (sexism, homophobia, transphobia, racism, slurs, etc.)
is grounds for immediate ban. You won't get a warning. This site is a safe space,
and maintaining said safety is incredibly important to the staff. If you aren't sure
if what you are saying is going to be disrespectful or hateful, just don't say it!
- Swearing is acceptable. Please make sure it's not used in a hateful way. We're not
here to be the swearing police, but when it is aggressively directed at someone else,
that violates the safe space this site is intended to be.
- We are a site that uses a "one account per member" style. Many sites encourage a
separate account for each character, and this is not the case with us.
Character Rules
- Creativity is celebrated here. When naming your character, try to think of something
original. If you're basing your character off something (a song, for example), make sure
to have a fully developed character, and not a two dimensional Mary Sue. Naming your
character after another fictional character is encouraged against.
- Please be realistic as physical characteristics go. Make sure you know your breed. Many
breeds come with specific colorations (the Friesian, for example, is almost always black,
and a purebred Arabian will not have an Appaloosa pattern). Height and eye color are things
to keep in mind as well. If you are unsure about something, you can reference the links tab
in the sidebar. There you will find a link to a site with horse information. If there is anything
unanswered, feel free to ask about it in the Cbox. The staff are always happy to help.
- Because this is a realistic game, we do not allow mystical or elemental powers. This also
means no unicorns, pegasi, alicorns, or other equine-like mythical creatures. Similarly, we
do not allow zebras, mules, donkeys, or non-horse equines. If you're looking for a site like
that, you can talk to Johnny about a number of other sites that feature mythical equines.
- When a character of yours has a foal, please use the Coat Color Calculator (number four
on the Links tab) to figure out the color of the baby. It's really fun!
- When creating a character profile, title the thread the name of your character.
Roleplay Rules
- No powerplay. This means you cannot control what any character does but your own
character. Instead of saying, "He lashed out with a hind hoof and cut deep into his opponent's
shoulder," you would say something along the lines of, "He lashed out with a hind hoof,
aiming to cut deep into his opponent's shoulder." That way, the other writer can decide if their
character was hit or not. If you're still confused, you can (as always) ask staff about it.
- No god-moding. This means that although you, the writer, can read what the other character
is thinking (if your writing partner discloses this in a post), your character does not know.
- Violence is acceptable. Fights are to be three posts for each character. They will be judged
by a third-party staff member after all six posts have been written. They will be judged based
on writing ability, not the power of the character in the fight.
- There is a four hundred word minimum. This is loose; the primary objective is to have fun.
However, it can be quite insulting for a member to write a long, detailed post and then receive
only a few sentences in return.
- This is an intermediate to advanced group of writers. If you are still learning the ropes of roleplay,
Johnny can help point you in the direction of a roleplay site better suited to your writing level.
Footnotes
- The rules above are subject to change. If they are changed by staff, all members will be notified.
If a member of the site feels an existing rule could be changed or a new rule added, they should
absolutely feel free to talk to the staff about it. We're wide open to feedback.
